Art & Light Gallery and The Anchorage Restaurant are pleased to announce the fall/winter exhibition in their 2026 partnership series, featuring the work of painter Audrey Phillips from October 7, 2026 to January 5, 2027. Join Audrey Phillips for an intimate artist talk on Thursday, November 19, 2026 from 5:00 - 6:30pm. Enjoy a signature cocktail by mixologist Mills Higgins along with Chef Zurkey curated small bites inspired by Audrey’s paintings.

For Audrey Phillips, the solitude of being in nature provides an invitation to become present, expanding the moment of stillness into an opportunity to observe sensations like the feeling of humidity and the sound of cicadas during a summer storm in the South. These sensory impressions find their way into her large-scale painterly abstractions, where color, movement, and mark-making create an immersive visual landscape

Phillips states, “Art making reminds me I am a part of the always changing energy of nature. Together with the materials and this activated experience, a transformation takes place within me and on the canvas. As with life, the journey and the outcome are endlessly intriguing.” The abstraction in Phillips’ paintings often compels the viewer to stop and linger, connecting with something palpable and familiar in the work. She employs complex mark-making and evocative color to facilitate a state of transcendence, offering the viewer a welcome space for renewal and healing. 

Tickets are $35 and include small plates and a signature cocktail. Sales are limited with only 25 spaces available. While Audrey Phillips’ exhibition is on view at The Anchorage Restaurant, work included in the show is available for purchase through Art & Light Gallery.
